KUNGFU MASTER

So, China seems to be into Liquid Mountaineering for some decades now. We found a Kungfu Master from South Shaolin Monastery who is running on water for more than 15 meters without fixed support beneath the water surface.

Update: Apparently he does use a platform to train for it.

THIS IS IT

As found on the web:

"There is a new sport created by some people, in which basically a person runs on the surface of water. It may sound absolutely impossible but it’s true. The sport is called Liquid Mountaineering. There are some historical statements that suggest that this sport was created by the Greek, but now it is recreated and it’s one of the most impossible looking activities that anyone has seen.

The sport is all about running on water. Science tells us that with the right angle and speed anything can bounce off the surface of water for some time before it sinks. The perfect example is of a rock that when thrown with the right amount of speed, spin and angle, it starts bouncing on water and touches the surface many times before sinking. If we could follow the same set of rules that enable the rock to bounce, we can bounce too.

The things necessary for liquid mountaineering are; good quality rubber running shoes, preferably winter season, a cold lake, and a good entry point to the lake. All you have to do is start running towards the bank of the lake and keep running with top speed placing every step at such an angle that instead of thumping on water with the whole foot at once, the foot should skim the surface from the heel to the toes. The process could be perfected only with practice, but it definitely is possible to take 3, 4 or more steps on the surface before sinking."

TODAY IS THE DAY AFTER YESTERDAY

This morning i was having a nice bica with Miguel. It was a morning like all other morning. We talked about fixing the car again. I was playing with the spoon and the coffee. I took a little brown fluid on my spoon and dropped it into the cup again. The drop seemed to float on the coffee surface a little before merging with the rest of his coffee friends again. It basically bounced a bit up and down. Like it was saying: here i am, i'm a free coffee drop, now let's have some fun while we can. Well, we are like that drop of coffee too! We skim and bounce of the surface, with the right water repellent equipment and the right angle, speed and technique. But it is not just the act of Liquid Mountaineering itself, it is what it let's us be, just free to overcome any obstacle we face. To go beyond anywhere anyone has ever been before without leaving Mother Earth. To celebrate life and the moment that has been given to us, as short as it may be. So i said to Miguel: "we are coffee." And he replied:"You know, today is the day after yesterday." Well, that was very true.

A SMALL STEP FOR MAN

Today was a big day! A quantum leap for mankind!!!!!!! Or at least for us, haha. After weeks of preperation we finally got some distance.

I believe Liquid Mountaineering can become the next big thing. People have been trying for centuries to do and try what we do. I think, now, we're at a point in history where human skill meets technology and anything is possible..... flying without machines, landing without parachutes and waterwalking without boats.

Sebastian was really good. But i am most surprised about the great achievement from Miguel. After he did some first steps in the water he really got the hang of it. The first spot we went to was a bit too much out in the open so the water got messed up. But when we arrived at our second spot i knew we had struck gold. Just perfect conditions. Miguel got the most far of all of us. Good work guys! To be continued.......

JESUS AHEAD

Found this sign on the web. Think it was meant to warn you not to fall into the water, but it looks like a nice Liquid Mountaineering sign, haha.
